How group mode works

  1. Start a sessionThe host picks Spin together or Gift or poison and gets a code and a QR code to share.
  2. Let everyone joinScan the QR code or type the code, pick a name and you are in. No account needed.
  3. Set your limitsChoose a maximum strength, a price or styles you would rather avoid. Every beer you get stays inside them.
  4. Spin togetherThe host presses the button, the wheel spins on every phone at once and everyone gets their own beer.
  5. Use your powersSwap beers, spin again or pick from three beers. You can use each power once per session.

Frequently asked questions

Yes, in Group Mode. One person, the host, starts a session and sets the options. The others join with a code, a QR code or a link, optionally enter their limits (maximum strength, maximum price, styles they would rather avoid) and the host spins for everyone at once. Everyone gets their own beer, within their own limits. Up to 24 players can join.

Scan the host’s QR code, open the link or type the code on the Group Mode page. Pick a name and an icon and you are in. You do not need an account and we do not ask for your email address or phone number.

A game for two or more players. You pick for someone else: a gift suits their taste, a poison does not. A poison always stays within the limits the other person set themselves, so never above their maximum strength and never a style they excluded. Everyone spins for the beer they receive.

You can use each power once per session, if the host left it on: Shield (a poison aimed at you becomes a gift), Reroll, Swap with another player, Style pivot (a different style than your last beer), Soft landing (not stronger than your last beer), Mystery (your beer stays hidden until you reveal it) and Wild card (pick from three beers yourself). A power never works outside the players’ limits.

Yes. A beer after a heavier beer is harder to taste. So in group mode a new beer follows your previous one in strength and taste weight, and after your beer you get a suggestion for what to drink next, like in the regular BierRoulette, within your own limits.

A session closes by itself after 90 minutes without activity and at the latest 6 hours after it started. While it runs we keep the name, icon and choices you enter on our server, so everyone sees the same game. After that everything is deleted. See the privacy statement for more.

At the bottom of the group panel is a button with the De Tijd guest Wi-Fi and a QR code to connect right away. If your connection drops for a moment, the page retries by itself and you carry on where you were.
