A pub for different moments
De Tijd is more than a place for craft beer. During the day you can walk in for coffee or tea, sit on the terrace when the sun shows up, or meet in the evening for drinks, a good glass of beer, a pizza or a board game on the table.
A pub where time can stand still for a while
At De Tijd not everything has to be quick. You can walk in for one beer and end up staying for hours. A conversation starts at the bar, a board game appears at the table and on the terrace the afternoon slowly slides into evening.
That is what De Tijd has been about since 1988: a place where you don't have to hurry, and where a good glass is sometimes reason enough to stay a little longer.
Many of our guests first walked in because they were curious about a beer on tap. By now they are regulars. That is not so much about the beer, but about the feeling that De Tijd is a place where you quickly feel at home.
History
Since 1988
A pub with a long history
De Tijd has been here since 1988 and has grown along with Dordrecht and the people who visit the city. What began as a pub where neighbours met has become a fixed place for lovers of craft beer, good coffee and long evenings on the Voorstraat.
Time changes, a good pub stays.
What has always stayed the same is the basis. A place where people meet, where time is taken for a good conversation and where attention goes to what is in the glass.
In recent decades a huge amount has changed in the beer world. Where craft beer used to be a small niche, there is now an enormous variety of styles, flavours and breweries. We follow that development with great pleasure. We keep looking for special beers, but never lose sight of the fact that a pub is in the end about people.
Many regulars have known De Tijd for years. Some used to come here for their first craft beer, others only discovered us recently. It is that mix of familiar faces and new visitors that makes the atmosphere what it is today.
A pub changes with the times, but some things stay important: hospitality, good drinks and a place where everyone feels welcome.
De Tijd changes. De Tijd stays.SINCE 1988
A pub in the middle of historic Dordrecht
De Tijd is a good stop during a day in Dordrecht. We are on the Voorstraat, in the middle of the historic centre. Ideal for a coffee after a walk through the city, a craft beer after a visit to the Grote Kerk or a pizza when the afternoon slowly turns into evening.
If you like to explore Dordrecht on foot, you can also try our beer route through Dordrecht. The route takes you past a number of special places in the city and ends at De Tijd, where you can finish with a rotating craft beer, a pizza or a beer tasting.
More than a craft beer pub
Many people know De Tijd for its big beer range. We are proud of that. Still, a visit to our pub is about more than beer.
Maybe you start with an espresso. Later someone joins who fancies an IPA. At the next table an alcohol-free beer is ordered and on the terrace a fresh pizza arrives. That is exactly what an afternoon at De Tijd can look like.
Everyone experiences the pub in their own way. That makes every visit different.
The beer
Our craft beers
Craft beer has been the heart of De Tijd for years.
Besides the rotating taps there are beers from the Netherlands and far beyond in bottles and cans. From trusted classics to brews you may not know yet. We're happy to help you choose if you can't see the wood for the trees.
Finding it hard to choose? Just ask for advice. We're happy to help you find a beer that suits your taste.

You don't have to drink beer here
You don't have to be a beer lover to come to De Tijd. There is good coffee and tea on the menu, there are alcohol-free beers and other drinks, and on the terrace you can just as easily sit down for a cappuccino as for a fresh IPA.
So you come here for more than the glass in your hand, mostly just to be here for a while.
Read more about our coffee and tea.
A terrace to sit and stay
As soon as the sun shows up, our terrace slowly fills.
Not because it is the biggest terrace in Dordrecht, but because many guests value the relaxed atmosphere. You sit in the middle of the historic centre, look out on the bustle of the Voorstraat and have all the time to order another drink.
Some visitors stay half an hour. Others only notice hours later that the afternoon has slipped by.
Something to go with it?
A drink doesn't have to be alone, of course. Our menu has bitterballen, cheese soufflés, spring rolls, cheese, nuts and toasties. Enough to put something on the table together, without having to order a full meal.
You'll find all the snacks and drinks on our menu.
Pizza, games and long evenings
Not everything has to be planned.
Pizza on the table, a board game from the cupboard and something good in your glass. Sometimes that is really enough for an evening.
That makes De Tijd right for a spontaneous meet-up, a birthday or just a friendly evening without a fixed plan.
Beer tasting
If you like to discover new flavours, you can also choose a beer tasting.
At a tasting you get to know different beer styles and hear more about the breweries and the stories behind the beers. It is a fun activity for two people, but also for bigger groups.
Frequently asked questions
For a regular visit you usually don't need to book. Coming with a bigger group or want to organise something? Then do get in touch.
Yes. Besides soft drinks and hot drinks we also serve several alcohol-free craft beers.
No. Many guests come for coffee, pizza, a board game or a relaxed afternoon on the terrace. Craft beer is an important part of De Tijd, but certainly not the only one.
Welcome to De Tijd
A good pub is hard to describe in one sentence.
It is the place where a first date turns into an evening out. Where regulars are greeted by name and new visitors feel just as welcome. Where a walk through Dordrecht is interrupted for coffee and ends with a special beer.
That is De Tijd.
Since 1988.
